Over the course of the past 6 months we’ve witnessed significant gains for businesses that implement a pay-per-click (PPC) campaign and we’re not the only ones taking notice. It’s one of the first questions that new clients are asking us: “Is there value in PPC?”
As it becomes increasingly more difficult to rank at the top of search results organically, more and more businesses are turning to PPC for visibility. Allow us to explain why this is happening.
Not too long ago there was a time when a business could achieve a top 5 ranking for a given search result and be located near the top of the page. While this remains true for some search queries, it doesn’t for many others. Want an example? Here is a search result for “Orlando Car Dealership:”
As you might expect it’s a competitive search query. Take a look at the top of the page and you’ll notice three PPC advertisements. Beneath that are the top 3 organic search results and after that is a Google Maps listing of 6 local dealerships. Only after scrolling down the page will you find the 4th and 5th organic search results. How would you feel if you were in one of those two spots? This is why we’re recommending PPC to more of our clients.
In this particular case there are 9 links to click on before you reach the first organic listing and there are 43 links before the 4th organic listing. Many speculate this is Google’s attempt to make businesses pay for advertisements if they wish remain visible at the top of the page, but Google denies these accusations.
Regardless of Google’s intent it’s forcing many businesses to start PPC campaigns. SEO is still a valuable course of action to boost traffic to your site, but we feel it’s equally important to implement PPC as well. Call us at 407-998-5593 today to see if we can help with your PPC campaign.
